April Reading List
Because TBR lists stress me out
I frequently desire to shift away from TBR (to be read) lists, yet inevitably find myself making one again. I must be stopped!
This April, I am aiming for a general reading list—a list of books that have simply piqued my interest. This is not a list of books I am committing to reading, but more so a general list that I will peruse as the month goes on. I spoke a little about this in my recent YouTube video, but TBR lists often leave me with a sense of failure and a desire for a better system.
Sometimes I purchase a book, but don’t feel in the mood to read it for a few months. My hope is that this will remove all of the internal pressure of a TBR list; we shall see!
April Reading List
A courtroom legal thriller and also our book club’s book of the month!
This is for a traveling annotation read also happening in book club, but I saw African American short stories and was SOLD.
We know her, we love her. I’m about halfway through and excited to see the romance unfold.
Christian Fiction exploring connection and anonymous generosity.
A collection of short stories exploring divorce, friendship, marriage, womanhood, and long-held beliefs being overturned.
A debut memoir about the world of homeschooling in Texas before it became a nationwide movement. As a homeschooling mom in Texas, I can’t wait to read this!
Two classics on the list is kinda crazy, but we’re rolling with it. After watching the movie, I really want to see everything the book touches on that the movie didn’t.
For a buddy read & watch we’re doing in book club! A staple from my adolescent reading.
A last-minute addition to the list, but I was just really in the mood for a good dystopian romantasy! I’ve actually already started it and would be surprised if it’s not a 4 or 5 ⭐️ read.
