This was a goal of mine this year and to engage deeper with my reading. Somehow I’m still reading fast and not pausing to reflect. I think I made my reading journal too complicated so it’s intimidating to use I’m going to simplify it.
Yesss this is exactly where I was. Spending more time coloring the journal in than thinking about what I read 😭 Sometimes a simple blank sheet of paper is all we need!
I appreciate the fact that you are going against the grain and aiming to be a slower reader. I think it’s easy for readers to get caught up in comparing themselves to other reader’s goals instead of just sticking to what serves them best. My personal goal this year is set at 25 books. This year my challenge was to diversify my bookshelves with other genres besides urban fiction & romance. The urban fiction genre was becoming lack luster for me for a number of reasons. Through the pursuit of this goal, i have discovered that I am a dystopian girlie! So, I’m excited to see what the rest of the year brings. Love your content btw🩷!!!
I have not. My first time even hearing about the book was actually through watching your vlog. After you explained the premise of the story, I immediately added it to my TBR. Also, if you end up liking Conform, I think you should check out Womb City by Tlotlo Tsamaase.
I love it when you share all things journaling. I’m a total pen-to-paper type of girl too, and I've loved it even more after establishing a solid system. One of the most helpful things I did this year was consolidate my calendar and journals into one central place, with a few sub journals for big topics...but now I’m really curious about the Republic notebook you've been talking about. because..lets be honest.. I too love a good notebook/journal experience. The look, the feel, the lines, the way my pen writes on the pages. (I sound like a journal nerd😂)
